This issue is dedicated to the honorable memory of Prof. Dr. Estela Matriano, who devoted long years of her life to the success of the WCCI, promoting education for all in a sustainable world. She was the "Aunt Estela" of all beloved WCCI friends, and she was the star of WCCI, shining in every single achievement or success.
Estela Matriano joined the WCCI in 1970s, and has played a significant role in supporting, promoting and bringing to life the founder Alice Miel’s vision until she passed away on 9 August, 2023. She was appointed President of the WCCI in Hiroshima, Japan in 1986 and helped steer the organisation through times of great change, culminating in the organisation’s first virtually held conference in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We will never forget about her, and always recall those great WCCI events under her unique leadership. May she rest in peace. -
